Welcome to unbreakable life with glory, the podcast where we talk about depression, anxiety, PTSD in a holistic way and natural way to always make you feel better. Hi, everybody. Today is Monday a beautiful Monday. A lot of people already finished working and they're right now chilling and, and relaxing at home. [00:00:32] And some people have a very good day. Some people have a rough day, but life is just like that. Some days are good and some days are bad. Like, uh, a, a mountain goes up and down, up and down. So today, today is another fantastic, um, With a very fantastic, uh, topic. We're gonna talk about downgrading and downgrading, like yes, downgrading and I found in Google, what is downgrading means for people that don't understand is to reduce to a lower grade rank or level of importance and why I bring in this, uh, topic today, because I know there's a lot of people, including me, we get anxious to, when we need to change, we get anxious when we need to done great our lives. [00:01:30] And sometimes we done great our lives for better life. And some people have to degrade their lives because they have no choice. And we always have that fear in between like, oh, if I have this scar and I go for a lower, a lower. Lower car means less fancy. I'm gonna lose my status. People's gonna look at me and say, oh my God, this pro this person is broke or is not doing well in life. [00:02:04] Or if I have a big house and I go to a small H smaller house, oh, people also say, oh my God, uh, also this person is going back because is going to a, uh, a smaller house. Hi George, how are you? Hi, thank you to be here. So every time that we gonna do a change, it's our life. We are in fear and we get anxious. [00:02:34] And the other day I was talking to my guests that I'm come, they bringing today. He's again for the second time. We talk about it. And we confidential have the same feelings and the same emotions when we express what we feel when we downgrade our cars. And I said, you know what? I feel this way. And you feel the same way, but I'm not gonna tell you the way he feels. [00:03:00] And I, the FA the way I feel in that moment, because the story's gonna come and I'm gonna let him to tell you how he feel. And then I tell you how I feel. And also the way when we talk about these topics, the way we feel stuff is for you to understand and see that other people is have the same, that hears not to be Al with anybody to criticize anybody. [00:03:28] Just. Have the open awareness to people to be able to feel free, to adjust their life. Sometimes when you've done great, it's for better, because you're gonna relax. You're gonna enjoy more life. You're not gonna have the every month, um, anxious type of mode because you don't have enough to pay your bills. [00:03:52] So we are gonna go, I'm sorry. We gonna go deeper and we are gonna bring Rohan sex to unbreakable live with glory, the podcast. Let's give him welcome. Hi Rohan. How are you? Hi, Gloria. I'm good. How are you? Thank you again for having me here. Welcome back to my show. I'm so happy that you are here in an honor to have you here because your story last time about the. [00:04:26] The kidney, the kidney story about the transplant. They are very good. A lot of people saw it and a lot of people got inspired by you. And I love it. I love that because this is our purpose to inspire other people. But also today we are gonna talk about another cool topic that I like this topic very much, because I know a lot of people have this. [00:04:48] So before we start in that topic and going deep again, let's tell, let's tell everybody who's Rohan. So everybody, um, my name is Rohan . I work for the automobile industry. I am in sales and I sell Audis for a living. And Gloria happens to have one, one of my sold cars. So I'm very lucky to have her as a client. [00:05:12] And, uh, I studied hospitality management. I've been in this country for almost two years now, and I've been doing my job, which is my first ever job for one year and nine to 10 months. Um, and I've had a kidney transplant. That's something we have spoken about in the previous episode. Yes. Um, that's who I am. [00:05:32] Awesome. So, Rohan, can you explain to me why you choose the title for tonight? So Gloria, uh, the reason I think we, I would rather say, um, you know, came to an agreement that we should, this is something we should speak about is because we both, uh, when we met and you know, you had a, a car and you went into another car, then you went into another car. [00:05:56] Um, I happened to have a similar situation. I had an nicer car and I went into another car. Now, let me explain what we're talking about. We both had nice cars, right? They were nice for us at least. And then for whatever reason, Gloria had her personal reasons. And I had my personal reasons. We decided to give up that expensive, nice cars, more expensive than the one we went into. [00:06:19] And we decided to go in a cheaper. And smaller parts still very nice, but smaller and cheaper. Uh, now the reason we are talking about it is because there is a little bit of a feeling that comes from the heart and you start to judge yourself and you start to feel this way, that what will your circle think? [00:06:38] What will the people think? What, how will the society see you with that smaller car? Just like how Gloria mentioned would they look at you as thinking that, oh, maybe this person is failing in life and he cannot afford whatever he was claiming to have before, or would they think like you're loser. So we thought this is a very interesting topic to talk about because this may not necessarily be true, that he's not able to, she's not able to afford it anymore. [00:07:05] It's just maybe their choice to downsize or downgrade, which is exactly Gloria was, you know, you were just talking about it's a personal choice. Somebody may make just to have a better financial decision. Sometimes you have a feeling that you don't need the big room or a big house or, or the V8 engine or, or the, the extra room space. [00:07:26] Sometimes you feel like the, the smaller house is enough. Um, so Gloria, this is why this is what we're gonna talk about. We're gonna talk about tangible assets and the social status that is attached with the tangible, tangible assets and how the social status changes, or at least how you in your head think it will change when you change your tangible assets. [00:07:48] Exactly. So remember that we were talking about, um, I wanna talk about your story and then I'm gonna talk my story too. So what exactly happens to you that you need to change your, your car? Like what exactly happens that you need to change your car? So, uh, I, I had. Uh, an S five, which is basically a two door sports car, black on red, and it's fast. [00:08:14] And, you know, it makes one of those noises on the road. It's fun. My wife hates it, but I loved it. Uh, you know, uh, but, uh, I was paying a certain amount every month and then it, it was, you know, kind of, it had a bigger engine, so it took more gas. And then obviously, because it was more expensive and more fancy car, there was more of an insurance premium that I was paying that came with it. [00:08:36] I did not have any problems paying for it, but here's what I thought about it because I've been here two years, like I mentioned before, I just felt it is not necessary for me to do all this right now. I am 20, 40 years old. I have hopefully, and God blesses me with a lot of time in my life where I can explore and do a lot of other. [00:08:56] Maybe I need to prioritize my life a little bit. Maybe I can downsize into something that's still very good. And you know, I can maybe save some money every month and maybe I can put that money to better use. Maybe I can make an extra mortgage payment for my house. Maybe I can use that money and, and, you know, invest in some stocks or in, in, in something, you know, or whatever future anything. [00:09:19] That's what I decided to do. But the minute I did it, I felt very happy and I felt very smart. Oh, Rohan, you're so smart. But when I left work in the other car, which was still very nice, but not as nice as the one that I just gave up. Right. And then I, I went to my friend's house for dinner, and then he said, where is that car? [00:09:38] I mean, where is your car? Is this like a loaner or something? Is your car getting like service or repaired that you have this small car? Like, no, no, this is my new car. And the first thing he goes. What happened is everything. Okay. So that was one second. I told my family that, listen, I just recently made this transaction and my family cares for me, but their first reaction also was is everything okay? [00:10:02] Like they, they may have thought that I have, uh, you know, I, I'm not able to maybe afford that expensive card anymore. Third, when I came back to work the next day, some of my colleagues who were off, who did not know that I did that transaction. And they saw me pull up in that time, like, what is that, bro? [00:10:19] Is everything okay with the job? Like, are they telling you that they may, they, are they gonna fire you or something? Are you worried about losing a job? Yes. So this is, this is what happened to me and this is what I faced Gloria. Okay. In my case, because I'm, I'm going through a big process of my life changing. [00:10:36] So I also have my nice car. I ranged Rover very nice, but because my life was changing completely and I was gonna be by myself. . I said, why I need number one? Why I need a big, a big SUV? Why I need this big car? Number two. the gas like you a lot of money. Three, the, the insurance is like top of the line. [00:11:03] like a lot of money. Yeah. Right. A lot of money. And, and yes, like you said, I can afford it. I can drive it and everything. But I said, I don't need this car. So I went down for the Q eight and also when I, when I went for the Q eight, I came home and I feel like what I did. Like, I feel strong. It's not a proper down. [00:11:26] Yeah. Like, what is this like, and this what's inside of me. Oh, my God. I came from a ranch order for a Q eight and Q eight is beautiful. It's beautiful carpet. It was me. And I want people to understand this. This is not about judging. This is about talking reality. So I said, oh my God, what, what happened to me? [00:11:46] Like, like, so in shock. And it was like, uh, days and days, like thinking about it, like until I called the manager, I said, listen, I don't want this car. I probably wanna go more, more lower. And he said, come and I went for a Q five, a beautiful one. And, and when I got the QA, eh, the Q five and I saw all the numbers and everything went down, boom insurance went down. [00:12:14] Boom, boom, big time. Monthly payment went down, cash went down payment, went like down. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Like, like drastically mm-hmm . And when I saw a couple hundred dollars. Yeah. More like when I saw that I save insurance, like a $500 just right there. . And when I saw that money that went down and I, I could save every month, I feel like in peace, completely in peace, but also it took me a time to adjust because I was driving a beautiful, very nice car, very luxury inside the QFI also is very luxury inside, but it's not in comparison to, yeah, it's not, you cannot compare one with the other one. [00:13:03] It's if we gonna, you know, we're gonna talk reality here. So it took me a process and, and, and, and I remember I told, I told you about this, and then you said to me, oh my God, that is the same thing. This happens to me. I feel anxious. And it took her like how long it took you to adjust that I'm still adjusting. [00:13:24] You still adjusting. Because, uh, you know, now every Mo so, okay. So my car would be in the garage. I had one of the sports car. I would turn it on and, you know, hold the garage. Now my car doesn't make any noise, like, and turn it on. Nobody knows so, no, but it's a lot better to be honest. Uh, uh, you know, it's a smaller car. [00:13:46] Um, you know, I put my stuff in four door, which is two doors. That's good. It's more practical. But, uh, and we know what's funny. It's been 25 days since I've been to the gas station. It's so funny because I know if it was my other car, I would've already been, you know, gone to the gas stations, like maybe two tenfold already. [00:14:03] But, um, um, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm almost there I've accepted it, but sometimes it does happen when people, sometimes you know them, but they don't know you too well, but they still know you, but they don't know. They don't know everything about you. I started looking at myself through their eyes and I started feeling like they are perhaps somehow thinking. [00:14:24] That I am not able to, um, you know, like, um, afford it or I'm not able to, uh, you know, I'm not doing so good in life. Maybe I made a stupid decision a while ago and I bought something that I couldn't afford. And now I had to accept my reality, who I am and come down to my knees and drive what I'm driving. [00:14:41] Whereas the reality is I could have continued to drive that car, but I just feel that it is not necessary to be spending that much amount of money every month right now, especially when I'm young and I'm building my career and my life. I just felt I could be smarter with my money. I can use my money somewhere else. [00:14:59] That's why I did this. But again, I miss my fancy entrance to my friend's house. I miss my fancy entrance to my workplace. When I pull up, I, I, you know, every time when the work would be, when we finish working, everybody would leave and everybody has a nice card. You know, we work in Audi. Everybody drives a nice Audi, so they leave in style. [00:15:19] Ooh. And I go quietly in my car. so I'm not, I don't feel like I'm part of the, the, the gang anymore. So these are some of the things that I, I face, but I have told myself that I think this is smarter, what you're doing right now, because if you're base is strong, which is your money right now, later in your thirties, you can, you know, your, your affordability and your overall strength is going to be a lot more. [00:15:43] And at the end of the day, Gloria, all those people who I am thinking are judging me. I don't know if they are, they're not, at least, at least I'm thinking they are. They're not paying my bills. They're not responsible for my financial equations. They don't get my FPL, my mortgage, my insurances, my grocery bills, my gas bills. [00:16:03] They aren't getting any of those guess who pays that, those bills I pay those bills. So I think the only person who should be satisfied or not satisfied by what he owns and or what he, or she doesn't know is self. I don't know if you'd agree with me, but that's what I think I do agree. And I also have the same feeling of, uh, like you, I, I feel I, I miss the, the sound of the motor, like right now, the QFI doesn't do that. [00:16:29] The car doesn't do that. It's not the same thing. I, I, I still, when I drive, I see the car that I had before and I like, oh, you know, like, especially when you see a similar one on the road, It's like, oh, and then I said, Gloria, you know, you're in the process to be AIST. You are in the process to stabilize again yourself, your life. [00:16:52] And, and you know what, when you, when you, and you remember, I went to the dealer, like so anxious about it, like I was anxious, very nervous. And the manager and the manager that is fantastic. You know, we need to say hi to Phil. He's fantastic. Yeah. Feels really good. Let me tell you he's wonderful. He, he, he, he put me down like Gloria, this is not your car forever. [00:17:22] this is not your forever first where you are now. And then you, you will be able to, again, to have maybe this do card, or maybe a better card that way you had. Right. Exactly. Because here's the thing. I mean, again, I know I don't wanna put religion into this, but when now we, whenever I leave this world or whenever anybody leaves this world, they won't write this on my tombstone that Rohan died with this car. [00:17:48] you know, his last car was only a, this car. It was not DS five. It was just a, a three, you know, nobody's gonna, you, nobody's gonna say that. Uh, but, and one more thing, one thing that I've learned and you know, it's, it's the ultimate truth. You're born naked without nothing. You leave the world naked without nothing. [00:18:09] You don't bring anything with you. You don't take anything with you. It is very good to accomplish everything that you can and, and amen. And hopefully everybody does great in their lives and accomplish their goals. But remember my friend. To bury you or whatever you do in your religion, you bury, or you cremate, you only need a little, uh, six by, you know, 10 inches. [00:18:31] You can have the biggest house in the world, but when you're dead, you're buried in that little bit of a, you know, of a ground. So it's the same. Yes. So yes. And I also were like, uh, I, I, I talk to myself all the time and, and, and when I see the car, my car that I have right now, I'm grateful because I be able to have that car, you know, because the cars that the car that I have is beautiful is also beautiful. [00:18:58] And, and sometimes we get so spoiled in life, like, oh, you know, I, I, I cannot be with that car. I don't want that car. And then when reality hits you and you need to do what you need to do is when you say no, I agree. Wow. Yeah. Let me ask you a question. Mm-hmm how many people you have a Q five export back. [00:19:20] I'll tell it to the public. That's what you drive. It's not a regular Q five. It's a sports back version. How many people dream car is that car right now? What do you have? How many people have that car? What do you have a brand new? Not used, not nothing, a brand new white, Q five. How many people have that? [00:19:38] And how many people dream to have that? I would say a lot. I will say thousands and thousands of people. Right. But, but what I was also thinking is that I think I was, I was agreeing to what you were saying, like how sometimes we become a little spoiled. Um, so I'll give you another situation when I was sick, when I was not in the best of my health and I would try and, you know, be. [00:20:03] Look at me going to the hospital, going to dialysis, doing this, doing that, and look at the other kids they're playing, they're playing cricket and they don't have to be in the hospital like me. My life sucks. You know what? You know what my father would tell me. He would tell me maybe your life is worse than a lot of kids, but I can guarantee you, your life is better than a thousands. [00:20:23] Maybe if not, by hundreds, bad thousands always look up to the people below. You see, be thankful to God. Look, there are more people who are suffering more and may God heal them, but maybe you have a Q five right now, right? Maybe there are people who are struggl to get a Q five. Maybe people can't even get a Q3. [00:20:41] Maybe people are driving a use Toyota. And with all due respect with them, I'm sure everybody does the best that they can. But I went from an S factor to an a three. And I'm sad thinking about how the world is going to look at me, but maybe perhaps I forgot that maybe not even a lot of people can get an a three. [00:20:59] You know, many. So that's, that's what I was saying. That this is how we get spoiled, that we are going from a golden spoon to a silver spoon, but we forget that a lot of people don't have spoons. They're eating the meal with, you know, it's, don't, it's just a, now I'm giving an example, but some people don't have the utensil and we, and here we are crying that we're going from a goal to a silver, that shame on us. [00:21:24] We shouldn't think that way. Shame. Exactly. I like what you just said. And, and, and, and, and it's like, let me see. There's a comment right now here from, from George, from Jorge, he said for me, the, the ideal car is the four file from Argentina, but is, was this continue in 1992 being already design wise only to obsolete. [00:21:50] See, not everybody. See, not everybody wants for some people. No. For some people. So I'll tell you I'll, I'll not take his name because I would like to protect his identity here. There's a gentleman who works at my job. He's the only one you wouldn't believe it. He's one of the most successful. He's been doing this for like 10 plus years. [00:22:08] So he's been doing this for a long time and he's one of the most successful, uh, sales person that we have. He sells one of the highest number of cars. He makes probably the most amount of money too, in compared to all of us. And you don't what car he drives. He drives a 2012 Honda accord with like hundred and 20 something thousand miles. [00:22:26] Now, listen, I'm not saying we should sell our cars and go drive a Honda accord with hundred and 20,000 miles. But he has some kind of thinking he doesn't, he does not let the fact affect him. That what the world is thinking of him. A lot of people call him cheap. Look at this guy, he makes all this money, but he's cheap. [00:22:46] Let me ask all those people. You are not paying his bills. He's paying his bills. You don't know what his financial stability is. God forbid, if there is an emergency, I am pretty sure that guy is good. God forbid there is the recession and Audi goes bankrupt. I'm not saying it will, you know, just an example. [00:23:03] Let's say none of us have jobs anymore. I can guarantee you that guy will survive the longest because he's probably that financially stable and strong that he can take care of himself. And again, I'm not debating. What's right. What's wrong. You drive what you like, you drive what you can afford. But I respect the guy. [00:23:20] I'm like, I salute. Willpower that even after being so successful, he's driving this car, which is not looked at as the nicest it's it's, you know, in, in America, at least because in India, Honda Accords, a very nice car, but here, when you come to America, it is, it is your beginner car. It is something you get when you're beginning in life, you get a Honda civic or a Toyota. [00:23:43] And that's the car I have. That's my, that was my first car. When I came to this country, Honda AOR. There you go. They're fantastic. Oh, they go forever. The new ones are. Yeah. So he had, he has this old one. So I, I applaud and I respect his thinking. I'm like, buddy, you know, double thumbs up to you. You don't let you don't come under the peer pressure or the pressure, which is, I think something we should talk about in our remaining time, the pressure, sometimes people make decision based on pressure. [00:24:12] They stretch their legs longer than the blanket. What that basically means is there is something, again, there is a lot of things that my father has taught me. There is another thing that has taught me. Don't stretch your leg more than the blanket. So when you lay down on your bed, you put your blanket on do not stretch your leg more than the blanket or else your leg will be out of the blanket. [00:24:34] And you will not be comfortable same with your money. Some people in order to be cool or in order to be considered cool or in order to be termed cool spend money you know, in, expensive watches, you know, or in expensive suits or in expensive clothing or, cars is a great example because cars are expensive. [00:24:57] You know, they would get a very expensive car payment just because they have that nice BMW or Audi or, or Mercedes, whatever logo that whatever they like. And maybe that's not the best car for them in that situation. And they would get it just so that the, just so that they think that the world thinks that they're cool. [00:25:17] But the reality is my friend. Nobody cares when you will be late on your payment when you know, or when you're living paycheck to paycheck, nobody cares. That's something I wanted to bring. I, I, I would like to know what your thoughts are. Definitely. Let's see what Jor has say. I love my Honda civic. It is a warrant a bit, but it still work fine. [00:25:41] I feel very comfortable with it after many, many years. See that. Yeah. Beautiful. Yeah. I mean, so he, you know, doesn't have to, uh, as long as you feel the thing is fine, you don't have to come into pre peer pressure and get something so expensive. So the world so successful, my friend success comes from the heart. [00:25:59] You don't let, don't worry about shouting. Your success is a very good quote I saw on Facebook. Yes. You know, work hard in silence. Let, let your success make the noise. So you'll be fine. You don't need to prove the world by buying expensive things. And I think it's really stupid if you're spending money. [00:26:15] So that the work can think that you are successful, you know, with this conversation that we have. And, you know, I, I, I told you in the car that I'm being, trying, trying to be a minimalist. And, and, and, and when you trying to be a minimalist and, and minimalist, what it means that I want, I gonna reduce, because I, I have problems before, like spending, spending like compulsing and buying. [00:26:41] So I remember I told you that I buy a dress because I was sad, or I buy a dress because I happy I buy, buy a dress because I deserve it. I buy a, I buy a dress, dress dress, and I, I, and I accumulate accumulate, accumulate, accumulate, accumulate. And when one day I saw this guy, the minimalist, I said, I want, oh my God, I wanna be like this. [00:27:02] And when I went into my class and then started doing the process little by little, cuz you cannot do the process like that because it, it shock you I've removed from, from everything. Like from. From shoes, dresses, pants, clothing, complete like clothing in general, like 300 pieces that I don't wear or use for a long time. [00:27:29] But you just funny that day. I almost no, that day I almost have a heart attack and cry because I said to myself, what I just did all these years, buying all this buying and buying and buying and buying. And I, I, I donate all of them. And then after that, I got conscious that every time if I'm gonna buy a piece of clothing is consciously where my conscious that I'm gonna buy the dress or whatever piece, but I'm gonna wear it. [00:28:05] Not to buy and just put it in the closet and, and, and, you know, stay forever there and never gonna use it. Cuz I was used to be like that. I, you know, and, and I, the way I notice that I have a problem was I buy the dress cuz I love dresses. I buy the dress I wear the first day. I love it. The second time I went, I was gonna wear it. [00:28:26] I hate it. I hate it. Oh, I don't like it. Then I said, oh wait a minute. I have a big problem here. But this is a big process. And, and down downside the down, going down in my car. And also I went downsized in my house and, and, and, and I know eventually I'm gonna still, still reducing and reducing and reducing, but it's because I want to travel more and I, why I need so much, you know, I I'm 50 I'm I'm, you know, I don't have responsibilities like kids wise. [00:29:01] So I'm, I'm almost free. I'm kind of free. So why I need so much when I can use that money to enjoy my life for whatever is left, because like you said, the day I die, I'm not gonna take anything. What I have with me, nobody will, nobody, nobody will, even the richest man on the planet will not take any, a single dollar within when he dies. [00:29:23] There is no special provision. See, again, I, I don't know what happens after that, but I, I can definitely tell you that people are not treated differently once you die. I mean, it's all who knows what happens, but, um, you know, you need that same space to die and you get treated the same way. Um, another thing Gloria, that I wanted to, you know, bring, you know, our viewers wanted to bring their attention and perhaps, maybe you would be interested in knowing this, that the goal in life is not to have the nice call. [00:29:51] The goal in life is to be in the financial capability of affording that nice car. These two are different situations. I have that nice car, you know, I want to get that nice car. That's that's one goal. My goal is to be in a financial position where I can buy it whenever I want it. I'm happy with that. And I may be driving a Honda. [00:30:12] So, you know, without this not a Honda, you know, I mean anything, whatever I'm driving. So I think that is more important. And the goal is also to overcome the mentality of this peer pressure that I'm not going to do things just because then the society will accept me. I don't want to have that kind of thinking. [00:30:30] I think that's very immature. I think we all need to do whatever works for you, but get yourself to understand and do what makes sense for you because in the end of the day, when you have problems, be it money problems, medical problems, or personal problems or emotional problems. There's only one person that suffers the most, and that's not your best friend and that's not your, uh, work colleagues and that's not your social Facebook friends that the only person is my friend. [00:31:00] You, so whatever you plan in life, be prepared that if this falls I'm able to, you know, pay it off or whatever. So make decisions that are smart for you, don't make decisions that are based on what the society will think, because society ain't gonna pay your bills. You know? So that's, I think that's the only thing that I wanted to, you know, And it, and it, and it is very, it's very hard. [00:31:27] I will say. It's very hard. The process when you are being, like I said, in the beginning, spoil not conscious of what you have, not conscious of what you spending. And, and I remember somebody was telling me all the time, Gloria, why you buy so much clothes, why you buy so much dresses? And I said, because I love dresses. [00:31:47] I love that. And yes, but, you know, be conscious and. When I start reducing, reducing, reducing, I feel much better. And it feels the anxious. Like when I go into my closet that my closet have a space, like, oh my God, that's cool that my closet have a space, but it's not the space for more the space of whatever I have. [00:32:11] It's just what I have. It's useful to use it. Yeah. I use it and I use it. If I buy something, I take out something that I don't use for a long time and, and give it away. But now to collect and collect that make me, that make me sick before, like right now that I'm in my new house is a smaller, I have like six balls, six cup, six plates, six knife. [00:32:39] Everything is like, so. Every, I, we, I don't need six, but if I have friends, I, you , you know, but you don't have 24, you don't have 25. Right? I, I, I, I can go with four, but four is, I say, six is perfect and six is everything. Even with the , the pods and pans, everything's just what I need. And I feel like much better doing like that. [00:33:07] Even my house is very minimalist. I don't have a lot of stuff. And when I need to clean it, it's so easy because I don't need to lift, lift, lift anything. , you know, it's just, that's it done? You know, it's funny you say that because I certainly believe, and it it's really, I mean, it's a very silly thought of mine, but I I'm, I'm a believer of this one 30, that the place where you live, which is what your house. [00:33:31] The more, less you have the more space you will have in your mind. Yes. Because when you look at it, the less claustrophobic you thinks are the more claustrophobic you, things are the more stress. And the more grumpiness when you go in your room, everything is melted on one side table, you have hundred things, a cup and pen coffee cup that you don't need. [00:33:49] And you, you never moved and everything in clothes. And this, the more cleaner, the more it's like a detox is exactly what you did. You, you did be your wardrobe detox, and that just didn't do a water detox that did your mental detox also, because I know in life, physical things are not everything, but sometimes this detox that you do with the physical things that you have in life affect directly your mental health. [00:34:13] When you start cleaning things around you, when you start being a minimalist, keep things organized. I am one. I have daughter. If I have a guest six plates, one, you know, six cups, six bones, six knives, six forks. You will, you, you will be surprised to know how efficiently your mind will work, because you have more space. [00:34:34] You have more memory in, you have more memory space in your head, because if it's the other way around, you have like hundred dresses, a hundreds, uh, you know, like, uh, too much of everything, you don't have enough room in the head to think anything, your head is so full of all this, that you don't have any more memory or any more power to make any other decision, because you're so preoccupied by all this too much. [00:34:58] So it's good. We all need that wardrobe, detox. We all need that kitchen cabinet detox. We all need that. Um, whatever extra you have detox, give it away, give it to give it away to someone in need, give it in charity or give it to Goodwill. There's a lot of people who can use it. Whatever you were collecting, just because it was your addiction or I, I don't wanna, you know, whatever you were doing it because you were thinking it was making you happy, let it be useful for other people. [00:35:24] And for you keep, what's only useful for you. Because again, even those six cups, my friend, you're not taking those with you once you're gone from this world. Not even those, not even one cup. No. You know, and you know, when you start doing this process, you it's like, it's like a domino effect. Like right now I'm detoxing. [00:35:44] My, my, the way I eat, like I'm, I'm going to, uh, like completely breaking out processed food. I'm not doing no more process, no more sugars. So I'm, I'm, I'm doing an evolution, an evolution of myself because I feel sick. I was. And, and, and, and, and, and, and I'm, I'm, I'm telling you this, because this is what I talk about, about depression, anxiety, PTSD. [00:36:11] I do have that. So when I, when you recognize that you have all that, you have to be responsible about you and not say, this person is, this person did this to me, or blaming other people, be responsible with yourself. And that's what I've been doing. And this process has been for many years, and it's like, like, I, it's not like, okay, I start being minimal less and everything, you know, align, and everything's gonna be fine. [00:36:38] It's a process it's physical mentally, emotionally. And, and there's some days that you're gonna cry in some days, you're gonna be not really that. Okay. But it's a process and you need those things to, to be aware and to understand yourself, like now I feel much healthier. And, and more peaceful. I, before I was more, um, like responsive, more aggressive to talk AB like to talk to like, to, to, uh, how you call defensive all the time. [00:37:15] But because I was, I was ill, I was ill. I was hurt. And, and, and it took me a long time to recognize it. And I said, I, I just need to be responsible with myself and start doing it, releasing all this toxicity that I have in my mind, my body, and even in my soul, because we, we have, it tends to have a lot of negative emotions, negative feelings, negative thoughts. [00:37:42] So we need to remove that. But to do that is a process, a gentle process of love for yourself and, and, and starting to not judge people, because why you judge people like, for example, like judging and. The changer of downgrading. I was more like, oh, people's gonna judge me because like you said, because I'm not anymore married because I'm gonna be a, now I'm a single woman, you know? [00:38:12] And now I, my, my status of, of, of being married is, is, is gun. So I feel like, oh, I done great to be single alone. That's the stupid things that we think. And, and this is not like, like for people to say, oh my gosh, it's so spoiled. No, it's for people to understand that all of us have some different issues and to go to one, starts to another one. [00:38:40] A lot of people will say right now, oh, that the best way is to be single. Maybe for me, not for me, for me still still hurt for me. It's still like, I, you know, like I'm single, I'm, I'm still married. I'm married, still single it's like that. So. It takes the time to adjust. What do you think about that? No, I think I agree with you. [00:39:01] It takes the time to adjust number one. And also what you mentioned before. It is not a one day process. No, it is not a one hour process. I think it is a step a to Z process, but from step from a to Z, you need to go first to, from step to step B, then you need to go to step C. Then you need to go to step D it starts with one little thing, but it starts with one move. [00:39:24] Maybe starts with your wardrobe. Maybe start with your kitchen. Maybe start with your diet. Thinks that we do about converting to not eat processed foods and, and sugar and things like that. Gloria, what happens when we eat too much of, let's say you go to an ice cream store and you get excited. You eat too much ice cream. [00:39:41] Uh, I'll tell you you'll in two, three hours, you'll be sitting in your toilet and you'll be having trouble or whatever. What happens when you eat too much food? Like, you know, you feel you too hungry. See what I'm trying to tell is. Anything in imbalance or excess is not good for you. Anything food, if you eat more than your capacity, it'll come out one way or the other way, water, even water. [00:40:07] If you drink more than capacity, it's gonna come out. Your body will reject it. It's called rejection. And, and, and, and let me, let me say something about the water that I personally try and personally win the experience. Everybody said that you have to drink for six, six to eight or 10, uh, glasses of water. [00:40:32] And I discovered that I cannot do that. I'm five one. I'm very women. I cannot do that. Yeah, it's, it's, it's too much. So that's also, like you said, need to balance with the water intake because you know, you cannot follow what everybody is doing. Yeah, you just, everybody has a different, uh, yeah, exactly. It's different. [00:40:54] Exactly. Well, especially water because everybody has a different body mass index. I mean, you know, you're five, one, I'm five, seven. Maybe my, somebody is six, three. So they're, uh, you know, they're having those protein shakes and I can't do all that. I'm gonna burst into pieces for my, for my size. So, and, and also, sorry, sorry to interrupt. [00:41:13] So I don't sweat a lot of people, sweat. So people who sweat a lot needs more water, you need to need to hydrate themselves. So I need to be, be careful because when I, I try one time, one time with the water and it was way too much, I feel it this balance in my body. So speaking to your point, so you do agree with me a simple thing, like even water, if taken in excess can do disasters. [00:41:40] Yes. And obviously it is not, it is, it is no brainer. The things like alcohol, if taken in access can also do disaster. Smoking in access can cause cancerous disastrous. Right? What we don't understand is even simple things like the clothes in our, in, in our closet, if there's too much of it, it's gonna cause a mental disasters you're gonna break down. [00:42:02] Yes, yes. You will need to do a detox too much. You know, you gots going on, it'll be a disaster because you'll be too busy trying to manage it and try to, you know, keep it up up uptight. Here's the thing, big house, right? You went from a big house to a small house. How much effort you had to put into, keep in the maintenance of the cleaning and this and that of the big house. [00:42:22] What's what you're doing right now. Is it not a relief? A lot, a lot. And I, I have, and, and I had a pool, you know what? I just did. I just buy a plastic pool that is coming from, for Amazon. And I'm gonna put it in my back. Because I, I, what you, when you go to a pool is to, just to refresh here in Florida, right. [00:42:43] And to hang up with friends. So I have, I buy just a plastic pool that is coming. I'm gonna fill it with water and, and then there you go. And I'm gonna do, I'm gonna be in the pool. And I here, what I leave, there's a pool. When, if I wanna go, you can go. Yeah, I can go. So of course that was a lot of money. [00:43:03] Maintain a pool. Mm-hmm cutting the guys efforts. Yeah. And on the tension. I mean, why is it? Is it really the necessary? Let me tell you something. Congratulations on your plastic pool, because you know what? You don't need the world's approval to tell you, oh, Gloria, you're not cool anymore. You don't have a real pool. [00:43:21] You have a FCO pool, you have a plastic pool. The world doesn't need to give you or me, or we don't need to give anybody. Nobody needs to give nobody an approval because you're not entitled to give or receive approval from other people. You gotta do your thing. I gotta do my thing. Everybody's gotta do their thing. [00:43:40] So this detox is very important. I did a car detox. You did a car detox. You did a house detox. Well, this is my first house. So hopefully, you know, uh, but, um, you know, I agree with you. Things like food, you know, try to con you know, eat simple, eat simple. Your tummy's gonna feel good. Trust me. Your life starts with your belly. [00:44:01] That little thing that you got that's, what's attached to your mother when you're in, in a room. That's how you get the food. Your life starts and keep your tummy happy. Know what your body needs. Don't try to do excess of protein shake and this and that. Don't try to overburden yourself by doing things that maybe, maybe it's not appropriate for your body to handle, because what in the end is will happen is your body is very good with rejecting. [00:44:26] It will immediately reject. Yes. And that will cause a lot of pain to you. Yes. And that pain will cause a lot of mental pain to you because you will have trauma. Don't do that because one it's like a domino effect. One thing will lead to another thing. You, you do too much excess. Your body will reject it. [00:44:44] You'll have body problems. You'll have mental problems. So now guess what? With one bad move, you could so many problem. Instead, try to work on detoxing. You know, I, I, I don't need five suits. Maybe two suits are enough or three suits are enough because I, you know, I work in a job where I I'm suited and booted, but I don't need to have six suits. [00:45:05] Maybe one day I can just change blue shirt for the white shirt and make a different combination out of it. Who cares? I don't need six pairs of shoes and you know what, and, and, and I did this, I did this. I asked people, do you remember the dress that I have on Tuesday? For example? No, I don't remember. [00:45:26] and you would like, in your mind, this is such a special dress I'm putting. Yes. And, and, and, and, and before, before the old Gloria, the old Gloria, because this is the new Gloria, I was like in, in Instagram. Oh, no, I already wear this dress. So people already, already gonna see me with this dress. And now I want people to see me with the same dress that I enjoy and I love the most and it looks, and I, it looks so beautiful on me. [00:45:53] That's exactly what I wanna do. yeah. And, and, and nobody, to be honest, nobody, nobody cares. Nobody cares and you shouldn't care if they care or they don't care. You shouldn't care. You go to my Instagram profile, I'm wearing the same shoes that I'm wearing in six different pictures. Can I afford shoes? Yes. [00:46:13] But my current shoes are fine. They're okay. I just don't need to go get more when I have enough, you know, I have this fair and, and, you know, I, when I feel that I need to change this, or this is getting too old, I'll go get myself a new pair of outdoor shoes. Exactly. But I'm just happy that I'm, I'm in a financial position that, you know, what, if today I lose, I lose those shoes. [00:46:35] Or if those shoes I leave somewhere and I forget about, you know, and unless I go somewhere and I leave them somewhere and I lose them. I'm just happy that I'm in a financial situation to go buy another pair of shoes. Exactly. But I'm not buy over it. Brokes in the moment you can go. I know in the heart that I can go. [00:46:52] Yeah, exactly. Shoes break. No problem. Let's go get a new one, but I'm not just gonna get it to prove the world. Hey, listen, I've got seven pairs of shoes. I pay, I wear the blue one on Mondays. I wear the yellow ones on Tuesdays and I wear the pink ones. No, because guess what? Nobody cares. Nobody cares. Last example, because I like talking about this. [00:47:14] So Gloria. Oh, me too. Audi makes this $220,000 super sports car, right? The Audi R um, I had to take this car to our customers. Very, very, you know, rich. And we have, yeah, he lived on Palm beach C and I, I was given, you know, RO very careful. This is a very expensive car. You know, it's a V 10 super sports car, you know, don't drive fast if you know, so I was driving on the road and of course, I'm gonna take at least one picture of me, you know, put it on. [00:47:43] I Instagram course, you know, I'm leaving this car and I'm also cool. I'll tell you what, while I was trying to take a video of mine on I, 95, I was going like 80, 60 miles and not too fast. Normal speed. I was trying to take a video of me and maybe I was distracted. So my speed became slow. This guy on the back starts honking at me, bro. [00:48:03] Move. I gotta go. What I'm trying to tell is nobody cares. What, what kind of car you're driving? I was still, I still had four wheels. That all the other cars had. There was a Hume eye right next to me, it had the same four wheels and it was going the same speed. Now I'm not saying the person who was gonna buy the I to buy the hue dye because I'm sure that person can, you know, afford that or whatever. [00:48:23] It's a cool car, but nobody cares. I was thinking maybe I'm special on the highway. I'm in an Audi RA in a V 10 and this, and I'm, my God is making this sound on the road. And it's a convertible. Nobody, nobody cares. You think everybody cares. Nobody cares. You think when you have something nice, everybody looks at you like, wow, this is the hero. [00:48:44] This is the man that doesn't happen. But at the same time, when you think, when you don't have something nice and everybody thinks you're to lose it, maybe even that doesn't happen. And if it does happen, you shouldn't. Because you are the ones who, again, coming back to square one, you are the ones who make your payments. [00:49:01] You are the one who handles your life. That's what I would like to conclude this with. So Rohan, so let me ask you this question. Uh, do you start in, what can you, you doing any detox in your life right now? Yes, I am. I, uh, um, I try not to eat processed foods. I'm trying. I'm not saying that I'm doing, I try because you asked me if I'm doing anything. [00:49:32] I'm trying not to, uh, eating, uh, sugar basically. So I'm trying to eat natural sugars. Every time I have a craving of eating something sweet. I, I bought grapes. I would try to eat the grapes or I would, you know, bite into an apple or something Uhhuh. And also I'm also doing this, uh, because we had the conversation about the wardrobe detox. [00:49:50] I'm trying to put all the clothes away that I don't wear, put them together. And then we have these people at work, you know, they clean cart and like give it to them. They go church over, you know, they can use it because their same height as me so they can use it. Or if they, if they would like to, not that I have to, but these are few of the things that I'm trying to do. [00:50:08] The third thing that I'm trying to do is first, I should take too much stress from my work. Ooh. Because you know, it's a sales job. See like, oh, it's the 15th of the month. I need to sell this. I need to do. I go to my job. I do my absolute best. I'll give my a hundred percent, but once, once I'm clogged in, clogged out, I don't worry about it. [00:50:27] Yes. You know why? Because I don't extend my legs more than my blanket. I don't spend more than what I can afford, which is why I don't care for it. I'll do my best. But at the end, I'm not gonna stress about it. Drive myself bananas, drive my wife bananas and drive my family banana. I'm not gonna do it because it's not worth there. [00:50:48] And believe me, since I've started doing it, I have started seeing better results in my work performance automatically since I've started having that attitude. Not that I don't care, I care, but I'm also not gonna go bananas. I'm having better, better results in my job because I'm in a better mental health condition. [00:51:08] So when I talk to people, they can, they can see, they can sense it. When you talk to someone who's very stressed, you can know you can sense it, or someone's desperate. You can sense it. Very calm. Now I talk very calmly and I see better results. That is my detox. Well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna share with you, uh, about what I'm doing right now with the food I've been doing for one week. [00:51:29] Uh, me medicine Heva it is in Espanol like a reg genetic reg genetic medicine. And what it does is you cannot have no processed food, no sugars, nothing, no sugar, no processed food. And it give you exactly what you need to eat. Like they give you what exactly you need to eat, and you need to, you, you can eat all you want, but you have to O only eat what they tell you to eat in that week. [00:52:03] I, before that, before I started, I have an inflammation in my stomach and I was feeling down and I feel tired and I feel. Overwhelmed like of weird in my body. And I said, I need to make a change. I started to do that. And I, I said, oh my God, I don't think I can do it. This is too much. This is I can, you know, it was like all kind of excuses, you know, excuses in your mind, blah, blah. [00:52:31] Right. And I eat clean, clean, very clean on from Monday to Saturday, yesterday. My mind myself, not myself said Gloria, when you don't have a pizza, listen to that. Gloria, when you don't have a pizza and it was Gloria when you don't have a pizza, Gloria, when you don't have a pizza and you know what? I was not strong enough to say no. [00:53:01] And I went to have my pizza. Let me tell you it was the worst thing I ever. Because I feel the pizza is so gross for me. I eat it because I pay for it, but it went down so bad. And for my daughter, cuz we both, we doing that, we both was like, oh my God, we feel everything. We feel the chemicals. We feel everything because we was eating so clean. [00:53:29] And once we did that, we said yesterday, never again. We restarting again the process because once you started and you like your mind trick you and you try to eat something different, you need to restart again from the first day. And I said, you know what? I don't care to start from the first day because this is a learning process. [00:53:53] And I said, you know what? I don't have no more blow up in my stomach. I already lose a little bit of weight that I'm not saying that I need to, I'm trying to lose weight. But I think that the little weight that I have was more. The blow, the blow that I have. And it's because I was eating cereal, cereal, cereal, all the time, eating, processed food, eating a lot of things in the street. [00:54:17] And I stop it. And I look in, in the mirror today, I said, I'm getting, I'm getting healthy. I feel it. Yeah, the glow. Wow. That's amazing. You felt disgusted after tasting the pizza because you were so discipl, you know, in such a disciplined manner, you were eating your, uh, the diet or, uh, non process, nons sugary food. [00:54:42] So the minute you entered this fake food in your mouth, you were disgusted and you were absolutely. Yes. And you know what the doctor, the person who's, uh, the doctor who's in charge of this. He, he, he said, Gloria, you know what? I'm not proud of what you did. I'm not judging you, but you can see right there that you cannot finish anything just like that. [00:55:05] You cannot, you know, you cannot compromise yourself to clean yourself, to be able to, you know, to see what you're doing with your body and accumulating illness, illness, illness for the future. I don't, I'm not here for, for you to you do whatever you want. Exactly. That's you're just pay me. That's it. I I'm a doctor he said that and I said, oh my God, he's he's right. [00:55:35] I didn't respect my, I didn't respect. Yeah. You're not disrespecting your own. Yeah. Your own, my own, my own promise. Yeah. And, and, and guess who is directly or indirectly affected by promise, if you break the promise, if you don't break the promise, you don't break the process, you will benefit by it. You break the promise. [00:55:53] You will be affected by it. Exactly. Your actions. Just see all these things. Take us back to the original thing that we started talking about. Yes. Your responsibility for your actions. You're responsible for your decisions, be it with money or what assets you buy or what things you do. You're responsible for all the losses you're responsible for all your profits. [00:56:14] So don't make a decision in life that, that you know, that you think you make it because you will think the world will approve you on make sure it's good for you genuinely. Don't do something just to be cool for the world. That's one, because you are the only one who's responsible for yourself. And I think the other thing that's really important is don't live an excessive, unnecessary life. [00:56:38] Try to detox a little bit. You don't need seven suits or a hundred dresses or 10 Cutler in the kitchen. Trust me, you don't because you know what? You are not born with a single one. You bought it. When you were here, you don't need all that. Keep your requirements low. once you keep your necessities and requirements slow, you will leave. [00:57:03] You will live a lot happy because if you keep your necessities very high, you will work way too hard to be able to replenish and fulfill your high expectation, that big car payment, that big insurance payment, that big gas and everything.
