[00:00:00] Hector: Well may maybe the, the, the greater point is that it's, it's important to think through, right? And I think it's important for, and it's worth spending the time on, um, if you're, if you're here and going through this program, a lot of people, they get started, they throw something up. There are even a lot of tools that allow you to grab music or use music and stuff.
[00:00:21] Hector: But, um, it is helpful to think through some of these things because.
[00:00:27] Hector: Kevin and I were, were launching a show for a client and we were looking at a, a previous show that the client was on, and we went back and listened to what that show sounded like. And the unfortunate part was that there was, the, the show didn't really do well and, and it's probably because the music right off of the bat was not representative of the quality and the value and the, the expert, everything that, um, the show was, the, the music didn't convey it.
[00:00:56] Hector: I think about in addition to your, your visual branding. Your music is like when someone walks into a restaurant or even like, you know, I think about when you walk into a house, right? It's, there's an immediate feel or a vibe or a smell or a tone or an energy that someone immediately experiences. And so right from the gate.
[00:01:16] Hector: That that music is what ha is what usually does that, and you can get people really excited. You can get people amped or anticipatory nerv, like there, there's all these things that you can do with it if you really think through it. So I'm gonna pull up our, our sheet because we try and point back to the, the brainstorming sheet as much as possible because if you haven't gone through this, I would encourage you to just at least look through this.
[00:01:40] Hector: Mm-hmm. Um, if not. Fill out the, the questions here, right? Um, as much as you can. And one of the, one of the questions on here was what vibe energy do you want to create with your show? And that should be displayed in the, in the, in the art, in the images, right, in, in the visuals that are there. But that same thing can actually apply into the music.
[00:02:06] Hector: And one of the tools that we talked about in the, in the resources section is, um. We use Sounds Stripe a lot for a lot of our, um, for a lot of our shows. Mainly because Matt, what Matt talked about, you're able to get, you know, the rights to it and you don't really have to worry about running into any, any weird rights or anything like that.
[00:02:29] Hector: Um, you don't have to worry about paying extra or anything. You know, you, there's a monthly kind of fee for Sounds Stripe, or you can pay per song or whatever it is, but you're able to use that oftentimes wherever and however it is that you want. Now, in addition to that though, what I really like about Sounds Stripe specifically, and the reason that we're gonna talk about it here, is because.
[00:02:48] Hector: You can actually sort by these kinds of characteristics. So a lot of the words and a lot of the um, you know, emotions and things like that, that were on that sheet can actually be matched to music. And a lot of these, you know, there are a few tools out there that are like, sounds Stripe that do that. But I really enjoy it because you can say, you know, you want something that is.
[00:03:09] Hector: Um, you know, maybe you decided that you want it to be, uh, childlike, right? You know, thinking something like Lorraine's show, right. You know, about education or, you know, young children, things like that, right? Something like that. Well, you can also say that, you know, I want it to be childlike and I want it to be jazzy, right?
[00:03:27] Hector: I don't know. Let's see what that looks like. Okay. I don't think it's actually sharing my sound here. Lemme see if I can go through it here. Uh, and share. And that's one. But similarly, it'll pull some kind of kids like, uh, you know, jazz stuff, right? If you don't like jazz and you wanna say it, you know, you want it to be kids like and hip hoppy.
[00:03:50] Hector: Well, there's some things here. My point is, is that by thinking through and being intentional about what you want, your show and the vibe and the emotions to sound like you can actually go, and it makes it really easy to sort through some of these things. Um. So I wanna take a quick pause talk before we move on to the next tool to see if there's any questions, things to go deeper on here.
[00:04:12] Hector: Um, additions, anything that we wanna talk about. Sounds right.
[00:04:17] Kevin: May I add something, Hector? Sure. So on the production side, with the different shows that we've launched, we've brought on shows that have been established who already have their music, and we've launched new shows and. Everybody has their personal preference of music and what they, what they like.
[00:04:36] Kevin: So a lot of times what we see is people trying to go off of that instead of going off what the branding of the show is. Right. For example, we had somebody who wanted rock music, who their show ended up being kind of like a self-help more zen. Um, what's the word I'm looking for? Spiritual kind of guide, guided show.
[00:05:01] Kevin: And so you have this really hard rock intro, but then this super soft show. So the branding and the music don't conform. Right? They don't, they kind of, it's mismatched, which I think is a, a positive, but it also can be a negative because then your identity is almost. They're, they're almost thrown off by the beginning.
[00:05:26] Hector: Yeah. It's a great point to, to touch on in the sense that. This is why we want to consider your listeners, right? And ideally, or in most cases, your listeners are much like you. So a lot of times you can say, well, what, what music do I enjoy? And you can base it off of that, but there are some instances where that's not going to be the case in, in this, in this particular instance where, you know, the music that the guy listened to was very heavy metal, heavy rock, and the type of people that would end up listening to the show.
[00:05:59] Hector: Didn't vibe with that. Right. And it kind of showed in, in, in the results of the show. So, um, so things to consider.
