The complete conversation, in order. 1,113 words.

[00:00:00] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: Gotta have a daily win system. No matter where you are in your business, you've gotta have a daily win system. So if you're just starting out, or even if you're a really established advisor, or you really consider yourself a business owner, you've gotta know each day what's the most important thing you do.

[00:00:16] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: You have a weekly version, a daily work version for that. You can't have a to-do list, you've gotta have an action plan. You've gotta be clear about it and the busier you are, here's the crazy piece, the busier you are. They're less likely that you're gonna wanna do this. There's gonna be resistance to doing planning and going through your process because you're, I've got too much stuff to do.

[00:00:33] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: You know, maybe you're in surge, maybe you got a lot of traveling coming up. You've got some personal commitments, you got people out on the team, you feel like you're busy. You just wanna get on with it. Resist that urge because the planning and, and the time that you spend on this, you need it most when you're busiest.

[00:00:50] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: As ironic as that kind of feels sometimes, but no, here's an example. Of where it might start, right? It could start, it could be that it starts in a place where you just got it written on, on a piece of paper, and there's nothing wrong with that per se, opening and having it on a piece of paper. Uh, but you've gotta be really clear around.

[00:01:09] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: Making sure that that piece of paper, uh, is the one that you continue to use, right? So you've gotta start, you've gotta have a, here's number one, you gotta have a home. You have a home. So whether that is a piece of paper, a todo list, or something digital, you gotta have a place of like where you can come back to it.

[00:01:23] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: You write in the title at the top of that every single day, meaning to the date that that is relevant, rather than having bits of to-do list scattered over your desk. And then once you've got that. Place the home you've decided it's gonna live in. You do a brain dump everything out your head. So day when you do this, everything out your head, brain dump, brain dump, brain dump again.

[00:01:41] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: No matter where you are in your business, this is gonna be true. There's always gonna be things that you can do, and there's always gonna be more things that you can do in a day than you've got time in a day to do. Get everything out your head, 10, 15 things easily normal. Once you have that, there's gonna be an instinct where you've got a bit more clarity.

[00:01:58] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: And you are, you're thinking, okay, well now I can go ahead and do it. Resist that. We've gotta make sure we get really clear, clearer than you think. Sometimes we're not as clear as we think and we open up some more clarity. You like, oh, now that's much clearer. Once you've got all that 10, 15 brain dump, there's a menu of options that you could do in that day and it's gonna build, right?

[00:02:14] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: You can put things that pull up in a day at the bottom of that. Once you've gone through this process, so once you've done the brain dump, you wanna be really clear about what's those top three things. Now, if you've got eight hours of a day, 10 hours of a day, whatever it might be, six hours in a day, we tend to overestimate what we can get done and we don't look at what we've actually got scheduled for the day.

[00:02:33] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: You might find you've only got 10, 20% of your actual time that's not scheduled in order to get these extra things as it were done. And so no more than three things. No more than three things. 1, 2, 3. That's not like three bullet points. It's 1, 2, 3. So you define exactly what the first one is, and then it's gotta be in your calendar.

[00:02:51] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: So if you say that's the most important thing, you've gotta define how long it takes, and you've gotta put it in the calendar. Same for number two. Same for number three. But if you can't get number one in, don't go any further than that. That's it. That's all you've got time for. That's okay. Best study of your life is what's real.

[00:03:05] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: So we've got really clear about those top three in the calendar, knowing exactly what they are. You wanna reorder that on your, on your list. So if you've got a written list, you're gonna like start again and rewrite it again. It might seem redundant, but that's purposeful, right? We're getting clearer, we're creating clarity and over some redoing those things.

[00:03:22] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: It is not redundant work. It's creating clarity. Each time you do it, you wipe out, you get the, the, the pi, the picture gets clearer and so now get to work. Make it the way you see it, be really clear about that. And then the next day when you come back, you can assess what did you do based on what you said you wanna do.

[00:03:38] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: And the process starts again, need it in the same place because the stuff you didn't look at yesterday, you can move up to the next spot. And that continuously is like daisy chaining all these things together. And it's really important to know. How am I making progress overall? And then you start doing this on a, on a weekly point of view, on a monthly point of view, on a quarterly point of view and an annual point of view, and then a three years out and even a 10 years out.

[00:04:03] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: But it starts with a single day, and I don't, with all the advisors, planners that I work with, it doesn't matter where you are. This is something we wanna come back to and the busy we are, the more important it is needed to do this, to understand, get clear about holding your standard high in, in order to deliver what you wanna deliver for you, your family, your business.

[00:04:21] nick_10_02-17-2026_083955: And so you've gotta have this daily plan in place, one system to turn that to-do list really into an action plan to get the results you deserve.
